POST PROCEDURAL GENERAL DIRECTIONS

Proper care following your procedure is required to achieve optimum results. Keep in mind that some intensity and/or unevenness of color, especially after the initial application of pigment is normal. Adjustments to these factors is the purpose of the follow up appointment. Review and follow the directions below. If, during your healing process, you have any questions or concerns, contact me at any time. Due to exposure to environment bacteria during the healing period there is always a low risk for infection to the procedural site. In the event you should develop an infection please contact your physician immediately and advise me at your earliest convenience.

  • Avoid wetting your brows excessively for 7-10 days after the procedure or until all visible scabbing is gone. This includes strenuous workouts, swimming, sauna, direct shower spray and facials.

  • Gently clean your brows with antibacterial soap twice a day. (dial soap)

  • Do not pick, peel or scratch your brows. It is normal for the brows to get itchy during the scabbing.

  • Avoid direct sunlight on your brows for 7-10 days after the procdure.

  • Do not apply any makeup to the treated area for 7 days after the procedure.

  • Apply ointment 2-3 times a day if prescribed. (not recommended for lip blush and liner)

  • Avoid using Retinol, glycolic and AHA facial products on your brows. This can blur and discolor the PMU.

  • For lip blush, you must drink through a straw during the healing process, eat bite sized food (no big sandwiches or noodles), and hot liquids.

HEALING AGENDA

Day 1-3     The eyebrows will appear 20% to 25% darker and bolder in width then when healed. Your skin is red under the pigment that causes the color to appear darker. There is some swelling although difficult to see due to the thickness of the skin on the eyebrow. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days will cause excess pigment surrounding the eyebrows procedure to flake away and a more narrow appearance will result. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance. Possible itching from the healing process is normal. Exfoliation begins.

Day 4         Exfoliation is in process and small particles of pigment flake off.

Day 5-7      Color finishes flaking off and you will see a softer, duller effect for a few days until the color clarifies. Clarification of color will happen at about 30 days.

PROCEDURES ARE CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIGH SANITATION AND STERILIZATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH OCCUPATIONAL SAFTEY AND HEALTH. ONCE YOU LEAVE IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS TO AVOID COMPLICATIONS.

After Care Instructions

Day 1 -7 Wash

Wash daily to remove bacteria, dead skin, and oil build up. (This will not remove the pigment)

Gently cleanse your brows each night with a small amount of water and antibacterial soap like Dial soap, Cetaphil, or Neutrogena. With a very light touch, use your finger tips to softly cleanse the surface of the eyebrows. Cleanse the area in a smooth motion then rinse off with water ensuring that all soap is off the brow (do not soak or drench the brow). Gently pat dry with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or ANY exfoliants or lightening soaps.

You will not be applying any ointments, lotions or creams on the brows while they heal. DO NOT use Vaseline. I prefer my clients to dry heal.

No Facials, Botox, Chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 4 Weeks after the procedure.

Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week

Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.

Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days.

Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

Avoid swimming in lakes, hot tubs for the first 10 days.

Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area until all of the scabbing is finished.

DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.

IMPORTANT TIP:

Limit hot showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your brows out of the water while you wash your body. At the end of the shower wash your hair. Avoid excessive rinsing or getting hot water on the area. If brows accidentally get wet then pay dry as soon as you get out of the shower.
